It’s been a very slow day at work today. Partly because it’s the penultimate workday before Christmas, and partly because the MS Exchange folder has (apparently) broken in a wild & spectacular fashion. This means that 50% of the people on site have no E-mail what-so-ever. As most of my workload involves being sent one file, working some macro-magic on it and e-mailing the result off again, it’s been difficult to look busy. At the moment (1615) we are still waiting for the Man From IBM (who has flown is specially to fix it) to issue the 1430 update.
And here was me thinking they probably just needed to restart the machine, as that’s all the help desk tell anyone to try when their machine breaks down
