Picasa

I was watching the gadget show (Channel 5) (the website is here, but it’s not up to date) the other night, and they had a segment on Photo Editing software, where they did a quick review on various options available. I primarily watched to see if the included the GIMP (which they didn’t) The 4 they did review were Photoshop Elements 4, Coreldraw (10?), Some other program and Picasa.

I was was suprised to see Picasa in there, as when I tried it (just after Google bought it) it was purely a photo organiser. It was good at what it did, but what it did wasn’t much. I thought I’d give it another try (on my work machine) to have a go with the editing features, as some of the photos I took at last nights presentation evening were a bit dark, and I’m too lazy to go through every one manually and tinker with the brightness/contrast. Suffice to say, I am VERY impressed, and recommend anyone with a Windows PC downloads it (it’s free!). If you go to the gallery page on the Boothferry Dancentre site, you can see the end results.
