Should I be able to link the 4 together and view the laptop output(Ubuntu) on the TV? If so, could someone drop into the comments a link to how to make it work? I tried the Screens and Graphics option from the Control Centre, but it broke X. I’ve read things about xrandr, but read more about how it doesn’t work.

I’m hoping it can work, as it would help me with my MythTV testing.

I don’t have much time for telly at the moment. Which is good, because as far as I can tell, there isn’t much worth watching. Mostly, we are reduced to watching re-runs of Mock The Week and QI on Dave. As far as ‘Drama’ goes, we tend to like American shows like 24. U and Heroes Unfortunately (for selfish us) these have been in short supply because of the writers strike. In the mean time, I have taking a liking to The Unit (Lisa Hasn’t) and Prison Break (Lisa Has Too) on DVD, and I have been watching my Cosby Show DVD’s more too. I’m starting to enjoy a couple of ‘new’ American sitcoms that have started fairly recently on british screen – The Big Bang Theory and The Class.

After reading that back, I realise that considering “I don’t have much time for telly at the moment”, I watch a lot of telly.

There is currently absolutely nothing I want to watch on (British) TV at the moment. I can’t quite remember when I stopped watching, because in recent months, the only thing I’ve found even partially entertaining is Lost, and that finished a few weeks back. Since it finished, the best I can come up with is watching Firefly on DVD, and whenever there is a new episode, Series 2 of Lost and Series 5 of 24, which I can aquire fairly easily even though they are only being shown on American TV at the moment. It has to be said, all 3 of these series are exceptional.

I have tried some British TV, with Invasion (C4) and Hyperdrive (BBC2) peaking my interest in the trailers, but in my opinion failing to deliver. I am looking forward to The IT Crowd (C4), and shall be watching the first episode over the internet (legitimately – see the website) tonight. Some reviews I have read from fellow geeks who have already watched to are good, with humour there for both nerds and non-nerds alike. I particularly like the use of the RTFM T-shirt

I managed (with help from the #lugradio irc channel) to establish that the reason ET is broken on my system, is because of the graphics card in my system. It’s now late, and I’m resigned to failure, and looking for an Nvidia card to replace the ATi one in my machine at the moment. Also, not managed to speak to Xalior all night, so looks like I’m not going to get aggregated like I thought I might . I’ve not heard from Lisa all night, which is odd.

So far, my night in has been a bust. <strike>Let’s hope that Lost is worth the wait. </strike>It wasn’t! The last episode was actually pretty dire. mrben also has feelings on this. I did watch Episode 1 of series 2, and that was Ace, so I will be watching series 2!

Now, this is pretty cool, as I use KDE (at the moment), and most people (in the world, I mean) don’t.

I just wonder if Konqueror crashed everytime they tried to do something it it? Mine does, and it means I’ll be going back to Gnome pretty sharpish.
